Over the next 15 miles, you will climb about 4,000 feet up to Brian Head. When you reach the top of the mountain, you will see a lighted Brian Head Town sign. About 1/2 mile from the sign, you will turn right - before Cedar Breaks Lodge - onto Hunter Ridge Rd. After driving 1/2 mile on Hunter Ridge Rd., you will come to an intersection. Turn left here onto "Trails @ Navajo Ave". Turn left at the second street on your left - Alpine Ct. There are three homes on this cul-de-sac and Timber Lodge is the home in the center. Park in the driveway and use the stairs next to the garage for winter access to the house. The incline of Highway 143 exceeds 10% grade. It is kept clear most of the time so that chains/cable are unnecessary. But storms come often and during inclement weather, you will need 4-wheel drive or chains/cables. In addition, when you reach Brian Head Town, the road up to the Lodge is twisty and steep in places. Highway 143 is often easier to traverse than Hunter Ridge Rd. Please be prepared to get both in and out of Brian Head. |
